Police Association Blasts AZ AG Kris Mayes’ ‘Reckless’ Comments About Shooting ICE Agents
"The Arizona Police Association blasted Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes (D) over her comments about “legal justification” in the shooting of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Mayes made her comments in an interview posted by 12 News NBC, where she focused on Arizona’s “Stand Your Ground” law, noting

that it is one of the most expansive such laws in the country.
Arizona Police Association responded to Mayes, condemning her “reckless comments” about ICE officers and the public interaction with said officers.
Later in the letter, Clure said, “As Arizona’s chief law enforcement officer, the Attorney General has a responsibility to de-escalate, not inflame. We find these remarks reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous to the safety of all law enforcement professionals in this state.”
