Texas Tragedy: 70 Dead in Flood ‘Unimaginable Tragedy’: Trump Signs Major Disaster Declaration to Assist Flood-Ravaged Texas
"President Donald Trump is making sure first responders in central Texas have federal assistance in the aftermath of the horrific floods.
In a post Sunday on his Truth Social, the president said, “I just signed a Major Disaster Declaration for Kerr County, Texas, to ensure that our Brave First Responders immediately have the resources they need.”

The death toll due to flooding that occurred on the Fourth of July rose to 51 on Saturday evening, and authorities were searching for more than 20 girls who were missing. The floods hit in an area near Kerrville where there are children’s camps.
Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) revealed that his granddaughters had lost their cousin, Janie, as a result of the catastrophic flash flooding after torrential rainfall led to the Guadalupe River rising to historic levels in Texas.
UPDATE: Officials in Texas report the death toll from the Independence Day weekend of flooding in the Texas Hill Country hit 79 as of Sunday night. This includes 68 in Kerr County and 11 more in the other counties hit by the torrential rains on Friday and Saturday, according to the Texas Tribune."
